This tea is certified organic and harvested in the autumn months. This particular tea is grown in the Kyoto and Kagoshima prefectures. It’s crafted from parts of the tea plant (called bancha) that are leftover from making Sencha. After it’s hand picked, it’s then roasted over charcoal, giving it a really unique, smoky flavour. The roasted tea leaves taste very different from other Japanese steamed Green Teas, like Sencha.
Most of the caffeine is removed in this roasting process which makes it a great relaxing drink.
Available in 50 gram canisters.
For best results, brew at 85 degrees for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Use 1.9 grams for 100ml of water. Infuse twice.
