Strata Vessel

Rooted in the language of ancient grain storage vessels, Strata Vessel reimagines classical utility through the lens of modernism. Thrown from two distinct clay bodies, their natural tones merge and separate across the form, creating soft, earthen lines reminiscent of geological strata. Each band tells a story of material meeting motion -  a conversation between clay and maker. In the spirit of Hans Coper’s philosophy - form first, truth of material above all - this piece embodies simplicity not as minimalism, but as honesty. A vessel that holds presence through balance, not embellishment.
